HolyChat is a closed, self-hosted messaging platform. No surveillance, no ads, no third parties. Just encrypted conversations between trusted people.
What we built
Every decision in HolyChat was made to protect the people using it — not to monetise them.
Messages are encrypted with Olm and Megolm on your device. Nobody — not even us — can read them.
Everything runs on our own hardware. No cloud provider. No data leaving the server without our control.
You only get in if someone already inside vouches for you. Every user is traceable back to a trusted root.
Media is stored temporarily — after 30 days it's gone. Less data stored means less data at risk.
Our server doesn't communicate with any other Matrix servers. It's a closed network, by design.
No analytics. No telemetry. No third-party SDKs phoning home. We built this for us, not for advertisers.
Getting in
HolyChat doesn't have a public sign-up. Here's how you get an account.
Someone already on HolyChat sends you an invite link. No link, no access — it's that simple.
Your invite is reviewed by an admin. Once approved, your account is activated.
Download the HolyChat Flutter client on Android or iOS. Log in and you're in.
All messages are encrypted on your device before they ever touch the server.
